(6) $500.00 scholarships will be awarded to four seniors graduating in 2017
The Susana Viera Multiple Sclerosis Foundation is made up of a group citizens seeking to educate and provide support and healthcare services to the English and Portuguese speaking community of south eastern Massachusetts affected by Multiple Sclerosis. The organization was founded by a small group of healthcare professionals seeking to educate people and their families who suffer from neurological diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis.
The members of the foundation have asked that companies/small businesses and individuals help us reach our goal of raising funds to support its mission and sponsor a team in the annual Dartmouth MS Walk-A-Thon held every April by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater New England Chapter. The funds raised by our foundation’s annual event will not only be used for future education and out-reach programs for those with MS and other neurological illnesses, but also allow for more people to join the movement and stomp out Multiple Sclerosis. We have also broadened our outreach to support local high school seniors. Two scholarships are being offered at the Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School and New Bedford High School guidance offices.
